Wolf to Bear

Connor was so excited to move on from being a Wolf to a Bear Cub. He worked hard to earn all the requirements and 4 arrow points. He earned his last one the day before the ceremony by cooking a meal outside in the middle of winter - let's just say, it is possible to charcoal burgers even in the dead of winter with snow covering the BBQ. Impressive.

New Years with the Corbins

We continued with tradition for New Years Eve. We headed way up North to Liberty, Utah to enjoy the snow and sledding with the Corbins. Much food was consumed, many rounds of Ticket to Ride were played and of course sledding hills were conquered.
Brrrr.... this was a little chilly, but well worth it! Thank you Corbins for being the perfect hosts - let's do it again!!

Christmas Day ...

Christmas 2010 snuck up on us quickly.
It was spent amidst packing boxes and chaos.
It was memorable and wonderful.
The kids were thrilled with the events of the Season.
We told them that they could get up at 7:00 am. So, much to our surprise, at 7:00 on the dot they came in to get us. That was the best Christmas present! Sleeping in until 7:00.
The kids loved their presents.
Highlights included - an xBox. They have been begging for one for years and we gave in. They were convinced that I was so upset by it that I was going to call Santa and tell him to take it back. They begged me not to, as they were sure that they would never get another present from the fella because of my distaste of video games. Connor loves his microscope. Tate thought his science books were pretty cool. Gage loved his Toy Story piggy bank. And McCall was just thrilled with a 3 pack of lip balm - her dream come true!

We love Christmas!

McCoy Family Christmas 2010

I love this time of year. Everything about it, right down to the snow and cold, it just makes me feel cozy ...
This year for our gift exchange we did books - each gift had to be a book, it was a great idea. My kids loved picking out the books for their cousins and the books they received have already been read several times. Here are a few pictures of the family at the exchange. Rykken
CammyCammy with Yakuna
Brad - pensive ... or getting ready to slyly throw that ball he is holding
Beck - flirting with the camera

Christmas Eve PJ's

The boys were so very excited this year for their pajamas. Well, maybe not the pj's, but the bathrobes that they have been wanting for EVER! They wore them non-stop for two days, but maybe only two days since then, of course having them packed in boxes for a month did not help their cause.

McCall decided to accessorize her 2010 pajamas for the picture. It was important to her to look her best :)

Christmas Eve at Temple Square

Christmas Eve we continued with tradition by going to Temple Square to see all the beautiful lights, and it wasn't that crowded or that cold! Christmas miracle!

We are alive!

We made it here to DC all in one piece, let's just hope all of our things do as well. Being so far behind in blogging I thought I'd throw this picture up and get the ball rolling.
So far we have visited several museums, celebrated Gage's birthday, got caught in a blizzard that took us over two hours to drive home in - it was only 14 miles, but took oh so long in horrible traffic. Then we shovelled snow. So we have been having lots of fun and trying to experience it all! More to come!
