A Rainy Day at the White House

We spent a rainy morning at the White House Garden Tour.
It was very wet and a little chilly, but always fun to be at the White House.

We stopped at the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial - I love this memorial, it is never busy and I love the peace there. Every war that the Marines have been involved in is etched in the memorial. This is a must see.

At the White House amidst the plethora of umbrellas.

More Outings with the Grandparents

We spent most days with my parents galavanting around the DC area, into Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia.
 Mt. Vernon
 Senate Offices and Capitol Tour
 Monticello

Arlington with the Grandparents

Arlington is one of my favorite places to visit here. It is so peaceful and beautiful all year round.
My mom is history guru and would be a great tour guide out here in DC.
We visited Robert E. Lee's home, Kennedy's grave site, and the changing of the guard.

Love this place.

Baptism Day

April 14th - Tate was baptized!
He was so excited and looked forward to this day for so long.
It was great to have all his grandparents here for his special day.

NYC with Mel & Kathi

My Mom & Dad came to visit us in DC for two weeks - in celebration of Tate's baptism.
We took a two day trip up to NYC to see The Lion King and show my parents around NYC - their first time! So we had to go to all the highlights of the city.
The Empire State Building - turns out that my FitBit did not work at the top of the Empire State Building. It is always windy up there and I am glad they have elevators!
My Mom has been dying to go to Radio Music Hall since she was a kid - a quick drive by was all that we could fit in. Next time, she'll be dancing there :)
Love the Statue of Liberty, one of my favorite things to do in NYC.
My parents are quite the photogenic pair, I come by it honestly. Unfortunately, this is about the ONLY picture I have of them in NY. My mom had recently undergone eye surgery and was operating on only one eye, decreased depth perception, and plenty of mockery from her family. She is a good sport.
Ryan grabbed the camera from me and snapped a shot, on my birthday, I'm feeling as old as I look!

Easter Sunday

When did these kids start getting so big?

Ward Easter Egg Hunt

The annual ward Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success, there were plenty of eggs and even more kids to find and collect them. When going through my pictures, I can tell which of my children like the camera and are more than happy to pause for a pictures or two. Connor and Gage were there, but were apparently too busy running around and finding candy filled eggs.

Mt Vernon - Spring Break

Mount Vernon is beautiful in the spring. It is my favorite time of year to go. The kids are getting a little tired of it, can you tell in the pictures? They have been there and done that and ready to move on to other things. But with a promise to go to the gift shop for the souvenir penny or a candy stick, they will do just about anything!

I love the dogwood trees this time of year when they are in bloom, so beautiful. Next up, the magnolia trees in the summer, ahhh, beauty!
