Projects

I love working on projects. Here are two I did lately. I apologize for the photos - they were taken on my phone ...
Leggings - 99 cent womens socks from Target turned leggings - we made all sorts of them. McCall loves them too!
Halloween wreath - old book all torn up, a little bit of tulle and a funky old retro Adams Family card. I love this time of year!

Welcome Kasey!

My little brother Kasey is now living with us and I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying having a live in nanny right now :) It makes for running errands quite easy!
He is just starting school and will be here for awhile yet. Soooooo .... you should know a few things about Kasey:
1. He is single
2. He is a great guy
3. He is looking for a job and can do most anything
4. He is a great guy.
5. We're glad he's here and McCall has latched onto him like crazy!
6. He just got back from serving a mission in Chile - so we have been blessed to have Chilean cuisine lately - pretty much gourmet hot dogs! Who knew?
Welcome Kasey!

Oh, and he was with me when I took fall pics of the kids so we grabbed a few of him as well :) Handsome fella!

Expectations

When I found out I was expecting a baby girl I had all sorts of different emotions - excitement, fear, joy, terror, etc. I had in my mind what it would be like to have a little girl. How different it would be from having boys. Well for the most part it was about the same - only I got to buy accessories and play dress up so much more! But other than that - little girls still spit up, mess their diapers, pass gas and generally make just as many messes as their male counterparts.

Now here we are at almost 2.
The differences are becoming evident.
Mood sings - in full swing!
Already picky about what to wear and wants to change all day long.
A purse is a must have - packed to the hilt with treasures.
PINK! By far her favorite color. Given any choice of what to wear it will always be pink!
Dollies - we must have a doll with us at all times, only she calls them babies.
Her way- or the highway - this isn't going over well with Mom, infringing on my territory!
Loves lotion and combs.
SHOES! SHOES! SHOES! SHOES!
Enjoys shopping.

Bring on Polly Pockets, Barbie Dolls, My Little Pony, pedicures, tea parties and cupcakes.
I'm looking forward to it all.

I love this little girl.

September 11th Memorial

We took some time to visit the September 11th Memorial with the kids a few weeks ago and discuss the events of that day.
I love this country.
I hope we will always remember those who have lost their lives defending our liberties and freedoms.
Thank you.
